Sandra Dressler Berman, from Bayside, Queens, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in the psychiatric clinic of Greenwich Hospital, as a research associate for Yale University Medical School, and spent the majority of her career as a social worker for the Westport, CT public schools counseling students and families. While working in the school system, she started numerous programs including the Westport Mentor Program which matches community members with at-risk students, and Best Buddies which pairs special needs students with typical students. Now retired, she shares her professional skills by doing volunteer bereavement counseling for hospice and is a committed volunteer with Our Woven Community, a non-profit based out of CT that works with women refugees from Africa.
