Catherine Martin and Asmita Adya are seniors at a private school In New Jersey. They are brilliant and accomplished young women who were happy to come on the show to discuss the term “Students of Color” with Suzanne. Their perspectives are invaluable and vital to the broader conversation surrounding students from marginalized backgrounds and their fight to overcome racism. Catherine Martin Bio, in her own words:
Hey everyone! I'm Catherine Martin. I am an avid laugher, movie enthusiast, and a tri-sport athlete. I am a senior in high school and will be attending Cornell University in the fall. I am an active member of Jack and Jill of America, executive president of my student government, and belong to clubs such as Model U.N. and Black Student Union. I am also a member of Mu Alpha Theta National Honors Society. Fun Fact: I was presented to society and am a debutante!
Asmita Adya Bio, in her own words:
Hi! My name is Asmita, and I am currently a senior in high school. My family is first-generation Americans from India! I love to sing, read classics, and listen to music. I am an environmental activist and a leader of a non-profit. As a woman scientist and singer of color, it is an ambition of mine to foster and join a diverse and inclusive community and world. Thank you for having me!
